Strategic Alliance Between Crossroads and Clearview
Monday, June 01, 2009
Crossroads Systems, Inc. announced a strategic alliance with Texas-Based Clearview Managed Services. Clearview will deploy several Crossroads products starting with Crossroads’ ReadVerify Appliance (RVA) technology and RVA Services at its Waco Information Technology Gateway (ITG) data center.

In an effort to provide customers with state-of-the-art data security and protection, Clearview selected Crossroads’ data protection products to offer them in their new lab - a former Cold War nuclear fall-out shelter in Waco, Texas. The combination of Crossroads’ awards-winning solutions and Clearview’s services and physical security delivers a unique platform of robust technologies at a low cost. The alliance creates an unprecedented commercial package for companies seeking reliable outsourcing of their data center.
The unique combination of two Texas leaders in data protection and recovery brings new avenues for small to large companies and governmental agencies to effortlessly outsource their growing data management, protection and storage requirements. Making headlines throughout Texas and the IT industry, Crossroads has won several awards for its leading solutions, while the new Clearview facility features an innovative set of business continuity and disaster recovery services.
The central location of Clearview’s data center is within a 100-mile radius from Dallas, Austin and San Antonio, and within 200 miles from Houston, allowing for true data replication between the Waco ITG and clients in those cities. The Waco ITG is located on a power grid separate from Texas’ major city systems, providing an advantage during potential blackouts and brownouts. As the SAN storage environments of Clearview are also powered by Crossroads, additional layers of fault failover are in place, ensuring that higher data availability is delivered to customers.

Crossroads’ RVA technology and services will serve a vital role at the data center, continually monitoring, tracking and reporting on the performance, utilization and health of the entire tape storage environment. With a vast array of data sets, Clearview can easily reduce CAPEX and OPEX costs while improving the performance of the facility’s storage infrastructure. Through the unique ArchiveVerify feature of RVA, Clearview will also meet strict compliance and other requirements since RVA ensures data recovery by guaranteeing the actual physical integrity of tape media - an unmatched capability in the industry.
Through their deployment of RVA at the Waco ITG, Clearview will gain numerous benefits, including:
“Like all our Information Technology Gateways worldwide, we focus not only on technology, but our clients’ business. We’re pleased to have top-notch solutions, and we look forward to the advantages our Crossroads relationship can mean to our clients,” said Clay Hill, Founding Partner of Dallas, Texas-based Clearview Managed Services.
“We value this new strategic alliance with Clearview, as we can now offer solutions powered by Crossroads in an on-demand model and can then jointly offer valuable, low-cost and unique storage-security solutions as services that end users need today,” said Rob Sims, President and CEO of Crossroads Systems. “As companies want to reduce operational costs, embrace green practices and ensure the long-term recovery of their data, the joint solutions that Crossroads and Clearview offer together are an obvious choice. As a former nuclear fall-out shelter, Clearview’s new facility provides the ultimate in security and long-term data protection.”
