
Clarian Health is a $4.0B non-profit healthcare company that is one of the largest in the world operating 5 major hospitals in Indianapolis and 100 satellite locations across Indiana.
Clearview was hired by Clarian to work with their then-current Tier-1 IT outsourcer and Clarian staff to understand the issues surrounding service level performance and reporting.
• Clarian was unsatisfied with the service provider’s IT service levels and responsiveness, and it was not going to renew the contract
• Clarian required a new data center and renovation of their existing data center in order to discontinue outsourcing and bring the services back in-house
• Clarian was building two new hospitals and installing a new ATT network, Storage Area Network, and major patient care application
How Clearview Helped
Clearview provided in-depth recommendations focusing on improving the quality of service level performance reporting through various means that better used the monitors and tools already available. Significant improvements to the monthly service level performance reports were realized due to Clearview’s efforts. In total, there are now 23 infrastructure-related service levels, eight Applications Development and Maintenance service levels, and ten desktop related service levels. Clearview provided the following:
• Project Logistics Management for scheduling equipment relocations, temporary operating areas, staging of transitional equipment and establishing construction and contractor schedules to mitigate downtime and impacts to the hospital production requirements
• Managing renovation schedules related to the existing data center relocating over 500 servers and 100 other devices
• Project coordination for the various contractors providing design and implementation services for a Network Operations Center
• Evaluated 18 months of a third-party outsourcer’s service level measurements, performance and reporting
• Project planning to bring the services in-house from the third party outsourcer
• Scope and contract development for ATT network implementation
• Implementation of a maintenance network and testing lab
• General advisory consulting on several IT management issues spanning a 19-month period
